Dhuriben Dhurshigh Parmar, Village Demai, District – Arwali, Gujarat. Studied till 8th slandered, below too, and below the middle-class family. Before I joined SEWA, life was completely different. I don’t a have voice at home. On any financial decision, not a part, doing what was told. I always want to do something in life, but due to a lack of knowledge and confidence, I was always taking a step back. The family was also not confident in me. When I say I want to start something, family members say how you will start any business we are below middle-class people and we don’t have any funds to invest.

Initially, I was afraid to start with SEWA and also family was not supporting me, but I took courage and associated with SEWA. It’s been 13years now I have joined the SEWA. After joining SEWA I have learned many skills such as business marketing skills, use of technology (WhatsApp, Google meet, Zoom & Mobile Application) as well as developed many personal skills like; confidence, self-importance, Communication, and many more things.

I started with the RUDI marketing team in a playgroup and doing advertisements in different villages. Received different types of trainings starting from; how to do sales & marketing activities, use mobile application for managing customers, for online payment PayTM, for communication with customers, WhatsApp, Google Meet & zoom, and many more interpersonal skills. These mediums helped me to manage my business even in critical conditions of lockdown. I was able to take orders with customers from WhatsApp, Google Meet & Zoom. During lockdown I supplied house hold all the necessary Items and helped families.

Before receiving training, I was only able to do sales of Rs.5000. After receiving training, I found a drastic change in myself and my business. In starting I was getting low in confidence that I will be able to do sales or not but after continue efforts. I am able to do more than Rs. 150000 worth of sales in a month. With that, I am generating revenue of around R.5000 to Rs. 10000 in a month and more. Customers are coming from my village and around my village currently doing sales activity in RUDI. Catering more than 40 customers these days and increasing day by day.  All the sales and purchase activity using RSV application, which is time saving and I can manage large number of data and makes it easy to manage books of accounts. People in my village say that I am digitally active and computer walaben.

This helped in supporting my family members’ daily expenses. My husband gives me equal importance in the family decision. I can support my children’s education. Now I am also working as a master trainer, a trainer of more than 25 RUDIben who has started their business and improved lifestyle and help family members.

After joining SEWA, I am completely a different person, now I can use technology I gained new confidence and weight in my voice. I am thankful to SEWA for providing the opportunity to learn and explore new worlds.
